The Belay 80 Sweater is a synthetic-insulated jacket for children and young people who like outdoor adventures. Made entirely of repurposed materials, the outer fabric consists of recycled polyamide and the insulation is 100% recycled polyester (Thermomore EcoDown). Together, these combine to make the jacket light but warm. Whereas other products in our Belay series incorporate rescued wool for insulation, we chose synthetics here because children’s clothes are washed more often and this avoids the extra handling that wool requires.

An additional advantage of synthetic insulation is that when combined with fluorocarbon-free impregnation (DWR) it can withstand a lot of rain. Meaning: this isn’t a rain jacket, but it can handle a good shower. The Belay 80 Sweater works both as an outer jacket or an insulation layer under a shell or softshell jacket. Reflective details improve visibility of the wearer.
