With Back Up, we wanted to create a set of rain gear specifically designed for hiking. Combining the best features from other garments and optimal materials, our goal was flexible use, packability and wind- and waterproofness. The result is the Back Up Jacket and Back Up Hybrid Pant—the world's best packable rain set that works equally well for hiking, cycling and any other outdoor adventure.
The feel of the material is soft and the garment designed for best fit and freedom of movement. In this third-generation Back Up, we’ve updated the material to Gore-Tex® Paclite with new fluorocarbon-free impregnation (PFCec Free DWR).
The two-way front zipper together with the wind flap can be used as additional ventilation. A button and velcro keeps the jacket in place even with the zipper open. Ventilation side-zips help shed extra heat and there are two large hand pockets for storage. An adjustable hood with a small visor—along with an included mesh pack bag that can double as a head net—provide good protection from mosquitos during hikes.
This version, which we call "Relaxed Fit", has a slightly larger and more relaxed fit.
